Old Bay Seasoning Contest 2

A few weeks ago, there was an advertisement on blogher.com fof a contest sponsored by Old Bay seasoning. I submitted a jingle. I didn’t win but had fun writing the jingle.  I was astounded with several of the artful entries – the one of a crab constructed from an Old Bay seasoning can was fantastic and clearly above-my-skills.   No envy here, just admiration!

Imagine my delight when I opened a box with the distinctive Old Bay label on it that was delivered to my house recently.  Inside were a lobster pot, oven mitt, several boxes of various Old Bay seasonings and several recipes for shrimp boil.  Getting an unexpected and useful gift is lovely, especially when it comes on a day full of drudgery!

Thank you Old Bay!  Thank you Blogher for the “hook-up.”

Here’s my ditty.  I know it’s corny, but then, so am I when I’m not being fabulously sophisticated.  Ha! Ha! Ha!

Put Old Bay in
And your food will win.
Many props and grins
From family and friends.

Old Bay is delish
On chicken, fries, and fish,
It accentuates any dish.

Put Old Bay on it
And your food will benefit.
The flavor becomes more
And your taste buds will ROAR!

Old Bay is delish
On chicken, fries, and fish,
It accentuates every dish.

With Old Bay on, seafood comes on strong
Your taste buds go ping-pong.
You can feed a throng
Now sing the song:

Old Bay is delish
On chicken, fries, and fish,
It accentuates every dish.
