There is no greater thrill for me than seeing something I’ve written in print. and I am pleased to have these lyrics published in Volume IV of Write on the Dot: Hello Neighbor. Write on the Dot is a journal of writing from Dorchester and UMass Boston. This is seconded only by seeing my name and the title of my pieces in a Table of Contents. Thrilling. Chilling. Abundance of pride.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend the launch party because of work obligations. Sigh.
Following is Our Love from the Songs Somebody Should Sing series by moi.
Our Love by Candelaria Silva
It’s the sound of his breath
It’s the touch of his hand
It’s the lilt of his voice
And the fact he’s my man.
You dance
You cry
You laugh
You sigh
You love.
It’s the taste of his lips
It’s the lift of his brow
It’s the set of his legs
And that he’s here right now.
Your moves
Your tears
Your joys
Your fears
Your love.
It’s the click of his hands
It’s the width of his smile
It’s the strength of his back
He’ll be here for a while.
We dance
We cry
We laugh
We sigh
We love.
It’s the sound of his breath
It’s the touch of his hand
It’s the lilt of his voice
And the fact he’s my man.
You dance
You cry
You laugh
You sigh
You love.
It’s the flavor of gold
It’s the color of wine
It’s the nectar of us
It will live for all time.
Our moves
Our tears
Our joys
Our fears
Our love!
